In Zaporizzhia region, the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with the National Police of Ukraine blocked an attempt to create a fake "Huliaipole City Council", initiated by a local supporter of the pseudo-democracy.

The participants of the pseudo-authority held public events, promoting the non-recognition of the current Ukrainian authorities.

The suspects also called for the creation of SWAT team to seize governmental, law enforcement and the judicial bodies, and agitated local residents to join the "movement" through mass actions aimed at destabilizing the social and political situation in Ukraine.

To make the fake authorities look legal, the suspects held a meeting, at which the "mayor" and "deputies" of the fake local authorities were elected.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized from "deputies" and the "mayor" seals and stamps of "local self-government bodies", minutes of meetings, computer equipment and other items and documents.

The investigation is ongoing.
