SSU exposes Ukrzaliznytsia officials in Kharkiv region who helped enemy maintain railway connection with russia
The SSU exposed two former heads of a structural subdivision of the Southern Railway in Kharkiv oblast on cooperation with the enemy.
During the occupation of the region, they managed the strategically important railway junction in Kupiansk, through which occupiers transported stolen Ukrainian grain.
In addition, the collaborators coordinated the movement of russian echelons with military equipment and ammunition for military actions against the Defense Forces on the eastern direction.
According to the investigation, the perpetrators are two former officials of Ukrzaliznytsia’s local subdivision, who at the beginning of the full-scale invasion defected to the enemy.
There, they joined the occupation administration, where one of them was appointed the chief of Kupiansk ‘railway operation service’, and the other one - his deputy.
In these ‘positions’, they helped the aggressor to maintain railway connection with russia, as well as monitored effective use of the rolling stock in the interests of the occupiers.
However, after the liberation of Kupiansk, the SSU detained one of the suspects. The second ‘chief’ had fled to russia when the de-occupation started, where he is currently hiding from justice. The suspect will be declared wanted.
SSU investigators notified both offenders of suspicion under Article 111-1.4 of the CCU (collaboration).
The investigation is underway to bring the offenders to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv Region exposed and documented the offence under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
