44 Russian passenger planes exposed by SBU on illegal air transportation to Crimea are arrested
The SBU investigation helped to arrest 44 passenger planes of a Russian airline, which violated the entry and exit procedure to the temporarily annexed territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The arrest was imposed within the criminal proceedings for high treason, illegal movement of persons across the state border of Ukraine, violation of the entry and exit procedure to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, violation of international flights regulations regarding violation by foreign airlines of the rules of international flights and illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation established that 37 Russian airlines were carrying out regular air transportations to the annexed peninsula in violation of the Ukrainian legislation.
The imposition of an appropriate arrest and further investigation will make it possible to restrict the flights of these airlines' aircraft, including to European countries.
