Head of Russian agent network detained by SBU CI is brought to justice

SBU CI exposed a former Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman recruited by a Russian special service agent. He collected intelligence against the national security of Ukraine.

Within the criminal proceedings initiated for high treason, the indictment was filed to a court. The article provides for 12 to 15 years imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Allegedly, following the instructions of foreign mentors, the suspect had to collect data about military facilities located in Volyn region. Moreover, Russian agents asked about the participants of the ATO and the JFO.

The attacker also tried to involve other residents of the region to collect intelligence data.

On March 4 this year, SBU officers detained a suspect on attempt to cross the Ukrainian state border.
