Kharkiv region de-occupation: SSU detains 16 collaborators and uncovers lists of ‘officials of administrations’
The SSU continues stabilization measures in the frontline areas in the east of Ukraine. Only over the last few days, 16 local collaborators were located and detained.
13 of them have already been notified of suspicion of committing crimes. Court has chosen a measure of restraint for 11 of them, who will be kept in custody.
In total, the SSU has conducted in-depth checks of about 7,000 persons in the liberated settlements of Kharkiv oblast.
In the course of operational activity in the de-occupied territories, the SSU also obtained lists with identifying data of ‘officials’ of the former occupation administration and those who cooperated with them.
In addition, investigators uncovered registers of the invaders’ ‘tax service’. These ‘documents’ include all commercial entities and their managers, which financed armed aggression against Ukraine through paying the so-called ‘taxes’ to russia’s budget.
During the investigative actions at the locations of collaborators, the SSU seized a ‘cash box’ abandoned by the occupiers with russian banknotes worth over RUB 21 mln (USD 151,000) and documents with evidence of aiding the aggressor state.
The SSU has initiated criminal proceedings for treason committed under martial law and collaboration. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing.
Currently, the SSU continues comprehensive measures in the de-occupied territory to identify and bring to justice all members of the occupation forces and their accomplices.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out operations to expose and detain suspects under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
