After exposure, Ukrtatnafta transfers to state budget over UAH 1.2 bln of taxes unpaid by former owners

Following the SSU and the ESBU’s investigation into corruption schemes of the former management of PJSC Ukrnafta and PJSC Ukrtatnafta, the budget of Ukraine has been replenished by another UAH 1.2 bln (USD 32 mln).

The current management of PJSC Ukrtatnafta transferred the amount to the state as taxes unpaid by their former owners.

The company’s ex-director, suspected of tax evasion, is currently in custody.

Earlier, the law enforcement exposed Ukrtatnafta's management on misappropriation of oil products worth over UAH 2 bln (USD 53.2 mln).

The recovered funds will be used for the needs of the Defence Forces.

The previous management of the entity sold fuel through a network of gas stations without paying the excise tax, although this tax was included in the price for consumers.

The investigation is ongoing.

The activities were carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
