After exposure, Ukrtatnafta swiftly transfers to budget UAH 500 mln in taxes unpaid by former management
Thanks to the SSU and ESBU’s investigation into corruption by the former management of Ukrnafta PJSC and Ukrtatnafta PJSC, Ukraine’s budget received UAH 531 mln (USD 13.1 mln).
The amount was transferred by the current managers of PJSC Ukrtatnafta.
According to the investigation, the previous management of this company sold fuel through a network of gas stations without paying the excise tax, although this fee was included in the price for consumers.
As a result, the company’s debt to the state in this episode alone is over UAH 605 mln.
The chief accountant and former director of the joint-stock company were served notices of suspicion over the non-payment.
To compensate for the damage caused to Ukraine, the law enforcement informed the current Ukrtatnafta management.
After that, representatives of PJSC Ukrtatnafta transferred UAH 531 mln to the state budget in several payments.
Earlier, the SSU together with the ESBU exposed large-scale schemes of misappropriating UAH 40 bln (USD 990 mln) by former owners and top managers of Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta.
The investigation is underway.
The SSU and the Economic Security Bureau are working on the case under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
