SBU serves suspicion notice to expert who helps to exclude strategic oil pipeline from state ownership
NABU detectives jointly with the SBU investigators documented
the illegal actions of an expert who deliberately falsified the conclusions, and thus helped to illegally exclude strategic oil pipeline from the state ownership.
During the pre-trial investigation, the SBU established that organizers were the officials of a private company.
The case on ownership of the state part of the registered oil pipeline has been considered in court for years. Precisely because of the false expert’s conclusions of a state research institute, the court
re-considered a decision in favor of the offenders. As a result, the oil pipeline was transferred to a commercial structure’s ownership.
Expert’s conclusions were refuted during the examination.
On February 11, 2021, the offender received a suspicion notice of excess of authority or official powers; knowingly false testimony by an expert.
The pre-trial investigation is underway to establish and prosecute all individuals involved in the illegal scheme, as well as to take the pipeline back into state ownership.
