Man detained after Molotov cocktail attack on official’s house
The SSU and the National Police detained a man who threw a Molotov cocktail at a house of the Deputy Head of the President’s Office responsible for European integration. No one was injured. Law enforcement officers are investigating who is behind the act and what their motives are.
According to findings, at 4 a.m. on the night of October 22, the attacker threw a Molotov cocktail into the yard of the official’s house in Darnytskyi district of Kyiv.
The law enforcement established the perpetrator, who is a 25-year-old unemployed native of Kosari, Kamianskyi district, Cherkasy region, currently with no permanent residence.
According to him, he saw an offer on a job search website to carry out an arson of a building. He received the victim’s address and instructions via Telegram.
The offender was promised a reward of USD 4,000 after information about the attack comes up in media.
The case is qualified as intentional damage to property.
The perpetrator has been apprehended and will be served a suspicion notice.
