SSU launches information campaign (video)

SSU jointly with the Center for Strategic Communications StratCom Ukraine launches the information campaign "If you have information about any threat – do not hesitate to call SSU."

Its main task is to inform citizens about the SSU hotline 0-800-501-482. If there is any data about the possible threat to Ukraine's national security, people can call it.

The information received from the SSU hotline is confidential and will be carefully verified.

The main goal of the campaign is to fight separatism, recruiting Ukrainian citizens by foreign special services, as well as to counter the spread of fakes, disinformation and propaganda of the aggressor country.

The campaign will last for three months and will take place in the Ukrainian regions that are of great interest to foreign special services, except Joint Forces Operation area. These are Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizzhia and Kherson regions.

"The campaign is a part of the systematic work of the SSU, which has been conducting since the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. SSU fights separatism and attempts to violate Ukraine's sovereignty in Donbas, as well as in peaceful regions. Our goal is to block hostile propaganda and the activities of Russian agents on incitement to inter-ethnic hatred, creation of artificial conflicts and recruitment of locals, "said the SSU spokesman Artem Dekhtiarenko.

"In order to counter the separatist movement and terrorist activities more effectively, as well as to ensure the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, we need the support of concerned citizens of the regions under the threat of external intervention. It is for this purpose the SSU together with the Center for Strategic Communications StratCom Ukraine launches the regional campaign to inform the citizens about the hotlines to receive messages on the identified threats, "said StratCom Ukraine’s Director Oksana Horbach.

The information campaign to counter the hybrid aggression of Russia is the first joint project of the Center for Strategic Communications and the SSU. Since 2015, the Center has been supporting Ukrainian defense and security authorities in reforming communication practices and building their capacity in strategic communications. Among the Center's partners are the Ministry of Defense, the State Border Guard Service, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Staff of the Armed Forces and others.

The project is funded by the US government within the framework of cooperation with the SSU. The Strategic Communications Center StratCom Ukraine, with which the SSU has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding, will be responsible for its implementation.
