Following the SSU’s investigation, the court seized the property of a former member of Kherson Oblast Council, who heads the occupation ‘ministry of agriculture and fisheries’ in the temporarily occupied part of the region.

The court decision pertains to the assets of the traitor and his family: over 400 real estate properties, including 350 land plots with a total area of more than 1200 hectares in southern Ukraine, have been legally blocked.

In addition, dozens of vehicles, 15 bank accounts, as well as corporate rights in 5 agricultural companies and 3 trademarks have been arrested.

The blocked assets are worth total of UAH 500 mln (USD 13.3 mln).

According to the investigation, the former council member from the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party was one of the first to support the russian invaders after part of Kherson region was captured.

For such ‘loyalty’, gauleiter Saldo personally offered him a leadership position in the occupation administration.

He also appointed the traitor as the head of the ‘interdepartmental commission to control the transportation of agricultural products’ established by the aggressor.

In this ‘position’, he organized looting of local farmers’ property and illicit traffic of Ukrainian grain to russia.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified him of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

• 111-1.5 (collaboration);
• 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law).

Currently, the offender is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory. The efforts to bring the traitor to justice are ongoing. He is facing life imprisonment.

However, his corporate rights, trademarks and bank accounts have already been transferred to the management of the National Agency for Detecting, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA). The part of the suspect’s property, located in the temporarily occupied territory, has also been seized and will be transferred to ARMA immediately after the liberation of those areas.

The SSU Office in Kherson region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the oblast Prosecutor’s Office.
