SSU arrests property of president of industrial giant Motor Sich worth almost UAH 1 billion
Following the SSU’s investigation, all property of the president of Motor Sich JSC and the head of the foreign economic activity department of the enterprise, suspected of working for the aggressor, has been arrested.
The total amount of seized assets is almost UAH 1 billion (USD 24.7 mln). These are primarily funds in Hryvnia equivalent, as well as vehicles and real estate of both suspects.
In addition, the investigation established that the head of Motor Sich is a shareholder of a bank, which owns 100% of corporate rights of another financial institution - Motor Bank PJSC.
The involvement of the official in commercial activities of several Ukrainian enterprises, in which he owns significant stakes, was also exposed.
Therefore, the SSU acted to arrest the suspect’s respective corporate rights.
Both suspects were detained by the SSU Counterintelligence in October this year.
According to the investigation, the management of this Zaporizhzhia plant established transnational channels for unlawful supply of wholesale consignments of Ukrainian aircraft engines to russia.
The officials acted in collusion with the close-to-kremlin representatives of the russian corporation rostec, a major weapons manufacturer for the russian army.
The occupiers used the goods received from Motor Sich for production and repair of attack helicopters, which were massively used for the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
SSU investigators notified the officials of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.4) and aiding the aggressor state (Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspects.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Main Investigation Directorate is conducting the investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
