SSU seizes ‘hidden’ assets of sanctioned oligarch Novynskyi worth over UAH 10.5 bln
Following the SSU’s investigation, court seized more assets of pro-russian oligarch Vadym Novynskyi, involved in aiding the aggressor state.
Their total value is over UAH 10.5 bln (USD 277 mln).
The list of blocked assets includes 230 properties owned by Novinsky through an offshore trust fund.
The seized property includes an upscale hotel complex in downtown Kyiv, Ochakiv Commercial Sea Port, agricultural holding facilities and shopping centres in several regions of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, to avoid NSDC sanctions Novynskyi re-registered his assets to several foreign nationals in offshore jurisdictions.
The oligarch engaged affiliated private notaries and state registrars to implement the arrangement.
However, the SSU exposed the criminal scheme and blocked it.
In April this year, following the SSU’s investigation, the court seized Novinsky’s property worth over UAH 3.5 bln (USD 92.5 mln).
Criminal proceeding was initiated by the SSU under Article 111-2 (aiding the aggressor state). The investigation is ongoing.
The activities are conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office and in cooperation with the National Agency of Ukraine for Detection, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).
