SBU blocks Russian-controlled online activism

SBU cyber ​​experts exposed and stopped destructive activity of a Russian-run network of online activists in Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Poltava and Zakarpattia regions.

It was documented that instructed by Russian handlers, the offenders distributed in social media calls to violate the territorial integrity and constitutional order of our country, to incite ethnic hatred.

In particular, in Dnipropetrovsk region, SBU officers identified a native of Donetsk who supported Crimea annexation and ORDLO occupation, called for destruction of "Ukrainian fascists" and promoted ideas of "Russian peace." During an authorized search of his residence, computer equipment and means of communication with evidence of illegal activity were seized.

In Kherson region, law enforcement officers exposed a resident of the city of Oleshky relaying destructive propaganda. Allegedly, he distributed online anti-Ukrainian materials, justified Russia's armed aggression against our country, and called for accession of the central, southern and eastern regions to Russia.

In the city of Beregovo, Zakarpattia, the SBU established an activist, who created a number of accounts and spread propaganda to violate the territorial integrity of Ukraine. In particular, he urged citizens to support separation of the region from our state.

In Poltava region, cyber experts stopped activity of an Internet activist who posted separatism propaganda and calls for territorial changes in the banned social network. The resident of the city of Horishni Plavni took an active part in the activities of more than 20 anti-Ukrainian communities with more than 100,000 followers.

According to cyber ​​experts, increased online activism concurs with the so-called "tariff protests". It was established that ordered by foreign handlers, the offenders incited online users to participate in protests and disturb public order.

Currently, the offenders received suspicion notices upon the fact of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
