SBU blocks scheme of misappropriation of Odesa Sea Commercial Port lands

The SBU uncovered and blocked an illegal scheme of misappropriation of the lands of Odesa Commercial Sea Port. Thanks to the efforts of the law enforcement , the state-owned berths of the port with a total area of ​​3.5 hectares remained in state ownership. The estimated value of the land plots is about USD 2 m.

The SBU officers established that the perpetrators, abusing their official position, wanted to expropriate land in violation of land, water and environmental legislation. The officials of the State Geocadastre, certain local self-government bodies and business entities were involved in the scheme as well.

The offenders intended to misappropriate the lands of some berths of Odesa Sea Commercial Port with a total area of ​​3.5 hectares. The estimated value of the land plots is about USD 2 m.

The investigation is conducted by the SBU Main Department for Counterintelligence Protection of the State’s Interests in the Sphere of Economic Security jointly with the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine upon the fact of abuse of office.

Currently, the above-mentioned land plots have been seized in order to further return them to state ownership.
