SSU identifies collaborator who ensures water supply to russian military bases in Crimea
The SSU continues to expose traitors and collaborators who cooperate with the aggressor in the war against Ukraine.
As a result of operational and investigative activities, the SSU established the identity of an ‘official’ of the occupation administration in the occupied part of Kherson region, who helps the enemy to restore supply of fresh water to Crimea.
The offender is the former chief of the Lower Dnipro Basin Water Resources Administration, who supported russian invaders at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
After the region was occupied, he voluntarily started to cooperate with the aggressor and agreed to head the ‘state unitary enterprise of water resources of Kherson region’ created by the occupiers.
In this ‘position’, he follows the kremlin’s instructions in to establish uninterrupted water supply to russian military bases in the Crimea.
For this purpose, the collaborator signed an ‘order’ on the illegal accession of the North Crimean Canal units to the occupation authority.
Through this hydraulic artery, he is trying to ensure the supply of Dnipro water to the sites of temporary deployment of occupation groups in southern Ukraine.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the offender of suspicion under the Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (voluntary occupation by a citizen of Ukraine of a position related to organizational, administrative or administrative-economic functions in illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory).
The suspect is currently in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region.
However, the SSU is aware of his location and is acting to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
