SSU identifies another 4 russian soldiers who committed atrocities in Kyiv region

The SSU has identified another four servicemen of russian armed forces suspected of cruel treatment of civilians in Bucha.

In early March 2022, these individuals as part of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 35th combined arms army of the russian federation were on the territory of Bucha and brutally tortured a local family.

The occupiers broke into their home and used threats trying to obtain information about the location of Ukrainian troops.

Realizing that the family members have a clear pro-Ukrainian position, russian soldiers blocked them in the house. Threatening with weapons, the occupiers psychologically pressured and tortured them for a long time, demanded that they give out addresses of Ukrainian patriots and military in Bucha.

Later, the russians took the owner out into the yard, stripped him, knocked him to the ground and kicked him. As torture did not work, they intended to shoot the man. Fortunately, he managed to escape.

Then, the ruscists decided to torture the wife: they threatened to mutilate and kill her if she didn’t tell where her husband was. Despite physical abuse and moral pressure, the woman withstood. Eventually, the occupiers left the house.

At present, all the participants have been notified, in absentia, of suspicion of committing crimes under Article 28.2 and Article 438.1 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war).

The SSU documented the crime under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
