SSU identifies FSB officer who coordinated ruscist punitive authorities during Kherson occupation
The SSU has identified another employee of russian special services, who is actively involved in the war against Ukraine.
This is an officer of the 3rd unit of the 9th Directorate of the Operational Information Department of the FSB’s 5th Service Serhiy Sinitsyn with the call sign ‘Sabir’.
In March last year, he arrived in the captured Kherson to form punitive bodies of the local occupation administration.
As a member of the so-called ‘temporary operational group No 8’, the official was directly involved in creation of the moscow-controlled ‘main directorate of the interior ministry in Kherson region’.
This pseudo-entity carries out the kremlin’s task to conduct mass repressions against the population of the occupied areas of southern Ukraine.
‘Sabir’ personally approved appointment of chiefs and ‘operatives’ of the occupation entity and coordinated their punitive raids against locals.
Facts of abduction and torture of people by these enemy units have been recorded.
The FSB officer was also setting up a russian intelligence network for reconnaissance and sabotage activities against Ukraine.
For this purpose, he tried to recruit former local officials and law enforcement officers.
On his instructions, they had to identify and inform the aggressor on locations of members of the resistance movement.
Russian agents also used their connections to reach residents of Ukraine-controlled territory to collect information on the Defence Forces.
According to intelligence, during Kherson’s liberation Sinitsyn fled to the Dnipro’s left bank together with other russian invaders.
SSU investigators notified the FSB employee of suspicion of committing trespass against Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability (Article 110.3 of the CCU).
The SSU is acting to bring the suspect to justice.
The SSU Kherson Office carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
