SSU identifies kadyrovites’ leader who carried out ‘punitive raids’ in Luhansk region

The SSU has identified another russian war criminal who committed atrocities against civilians after capturing part of Luhansk region.

According to the investigation, he headed one of the rapid response squads of the russian guard’s ‘akhmat’ unit and had the call sign ‘Lobzik’ [jigsaw].

As a result of operational and investigative activities, the SSU established the identity of this individual.

During the occupation of Makiivka village, Svatove district, the ruscist organized abduction and torture of local residents.

In this way, invaders tried to intimidate people and suppress the resistance movement in the area.

The investigation established that on April 12, 2022, seven kadyrovites under his leadership had broken into a house of a local resident under the pretext of ‘clearing the village.’

During the raid, the servicemen stole cell phones, household appliances and money from the woman’s home. They tied up the victim and took her to the village high school, where the enemy had set up a torture chamber.

There, she was forced to ‘confess’ to working for Ukrainian troops.

The victim was subjected to electric shocks and beaten with a metal-plastic pipe.

Then, she was kept handcuffed to a radiator for several hours.

Late in the evening, kadyrovites released the victim, but under the threat of murder made her give them information on the residents of the community.

However, later the woman managed to escape from the temporarily occupied village to Ukraine-controlled territory.

After the settlement was liberated, the SSU collected irrefutable evidence of the guilt of the squad’s leader and his subordinates.

The SSU thoroughly documented the involvement of the commander and his soldiers in the crime. Witnesses have been interviewed, copies of the offender’s personal documents have been obtained, and his current location - established.

According to intelligence, the war criminal is currently in the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia region, where he commands the enemy group ‘akhmat-neftepolk’.

Based on the obtained evidence, SSU investigators notified the kadyrovite of suspicion under the Articles 28.2 and 438.1 of the CCU (cruel treatment of civilians and other violations of laws and customs of war committed upon prior conspiracy by a group of persons, ordering such actions).

The SSU is acting to bring the ruscist to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Luhansk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
