In Donetsk region, the SBU found a cache with weaponry. According to intelligence, in 2014 it was set up by Hirkin’s mercenaries to conduct sabotage and terrorist activities in Ukraine.

They arranged a cache under the foundation of an abandoned house in the village of Starodubivka near Sloviansk.

The SBU seized:

• 23 grenades F-1 and RGD-5 with fuses;
• 11 anti-tank RPG grenades;
• over 4,000 rounds of 5.45mm caliber.

Within the criminal proceedings initiated for unlawful handling of ammunition, weapons or explosives, investigative actions are ongoing to identify all people involved in the illegal activity.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Office in Sumy region under the supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Military and Defense spheres.
