SSU shuts down new schemes of draft evaders’ escape abroad: dealers offered ‘diving’ and fake medical certificates

The SSU dismantled another three mobilization evasion schemes.

In the course of coordinated efforts in several regions of Ukraine, five organizers were served suspicion notices.

For money, they offered men to evade conscription using counterfeit documents and by crossing the border outside the checkpoints.

The cost of ‘services’ ranged from 1,000 to 3,500 USD. The sum depended on the region or urgency of departure.

For example, in Vinnytsia oblast:

three local residents were detained; they offered ‘evaders’ to escape to Moldova by swimming across the Dniester River.

The dealers ‘prepared’ water routes and wetsuits for their clients.

In Lviv region:

A lawyer from Drohobych was exposed on helping men evade mobilization.

To do this, he used his connections in the territorial center for recruitment and social support.

The offender has been served a notice of suspicion under Article 369-2.3 of the CCU (abuse of influence). He is facing up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In Odesa region:

The SSU documented criminal activity of two residents of the region who offered ‘evaders’ to go abroad using bogus documents on deregistration for health reasons.

Later, the dealers promised to take their clients outside Ukraine on buses of affiliated local carriers.

Investigations are ongoing.

The SSU Offices in Vinnytsia, Lviv and Khmelnytskyi regions carried out the operations jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
