The SBU in Ivano-Frankivsk region liquidated a powerful troll farm, which performed the tasks of customers from Russia.

It was organized by a local resident, a specialist in information and telecommunications technology. Since the beginning of the year, he has used almost 12,000 SIM-cards of Ukrainian and Russian mobile operators to register fake accounts.

The troll farm operated mostly in social networks, messengers and e-wallets.

The customers of the services were mainly clients from Russia. They used its capacities when large-scale twisting of reality was needed. Basically, this is cheating of the number of views, likes, comments on social networks and video hosting. The payment was made in rubles.

During searches of the actual place of residence of the troll farm organizer, SIM-gateways, computer and other specialized telecommunication equipment and almost three thousand of SIM-cards of mobile operators were found and seized.

Investigative actions are underway.

Upon completion of the examinations, it is planned to serve the organizer of the transaction a suspicion notice of unauthorized interference with the work of electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer or telecommunications networks.

Documentation of illegal activities was carried out under the procedural guidance of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
