SSU prevents russian special services from hacking Ukrainian TV channels participating in national telethon

The SSU cyber specialists have detected and blocked attempts by russian special services to hack into the electronic systems of Ukrainian TV channels.

On the eve of the Constitution Day, the enemy wanted to use the resources involved in the national telethon for their own destructive information operations.

The enemy hackers tried to gain access to:

  • the live video stream;
  • the live news feed;
  • individual computers of TV channels’ employees who work with content.

Due to timely detection and measures taken by the SSU, such unauthorized actions have now been prevented. However, the enemy can repeat such attempts.

Cyberattacks are part of russia’s purposeful efforts to influence Ukrainian information space, spread fakes and wage a hybrid war.

The SSU will continue to make every effort to protect Ukraine in cyberspace.
