Ukrainian sky closed for sanctioned MP’s plane from Europe to Russia

The SSU and UkSATSE (Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise) blocked an attempt to use Ukrainian airspace by a business jet whose owner is on the list of sanctions imposed by NSDC. This is the Verkhovna Rada deputy whom the SSU suspects of state treason.

The SSU established that the suspects attempted to bypass the sanctions: they changed the tail number of one of the 5 sanctioned planes: T7BRG was re-registered  to T7GIV.

With a new number, on November 10, the aircraft was supposed to cross Ukrainian airspace on its way from an EU member state to Russia. However, the SSU worked together with UkSATSE and the State Aviation Service of Ukraine to ban the transit of the business jet.

In early 2021, at the SSU’s submission, the NSDC imposed sanctions on the aircraft operator JET4U S.R.L. and companies that own business jets, which odious Ukrainian politicians used to fly to the aggressor state.

Later, as the SSU Head Ivan Bakanov informed, the Service recommended the NSDC to impose sanctions on the new owners of this aircraft.

The SSU Main Directorate for CI Protection of the Economic Security coordinated the activities.
