SSU stops activity of anti-Ukrainian group
In Kyiv region, the SSU put an end to the activities of an anti-Ukrainian group. Members of the group held rallies and called for takeover of state power in Ukraine.
To disguise illegal activities, they posed as activists of a civil movement. During mass events, they spread calls to overthrow the constitutional order and provoked disorders.
SSU operatives established that the group included several residents of the capital and Kyiv region.
During the searches at the suspects’ homes, law enforcement officers uncovered the means of communication that were used to coordinate unlawful activity.
The SSU investigators notified the leader of the group of suspicion of actions aimed at forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or takeover of government.
The court is going to decide on the preventive measure.
Urgent investigative actions are underway to establish all circumstances of the illegal activity and bring to justice other individuals involved in crimes against the state security of Ukraine.
The operation was carried out by the SSU under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
