SSU never repeats itself in its special operations – Vasyl Maliuk

The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk predicts new special operations in 2024 causing even more damage to the aggressor.

He said this in an interview for the ICTV channel during the United News telethon.

‘Let the russians wait for the next ‘bavovna’ [explosions]... We never repeat ourselves, and even if the russians modify their defences against our naval drones, we are, of course, one step ahead. Everything will happen in due time, you’ll see everything,’ announced Vasyl Maliuk.

He also spoke about the SSU’s contribution to the Victory. ‘Our achievements show this clearly. To date, we’ve destroyed 809 tanks since the war began, all of which have video confirmations… As well as other armoured vehicles, electronic warfare systems and so on. This is happening right on the front line,’ the SSU Head informed.

Using long-range drones, the SSU divided its teams and strike capabilities according to range, starting from the front line and then deeper into russia’s territory up to 120 km. In this way, the SSU has already attacked 13 oil refineries in several russian regions, as the aggressor fills its war budget by exporting oil products.

Among the SSU’s successful operations is the hitting of an A-50 radar aircraft at the Machulishchi airfield, Belarus.

Vasyl Maliuk reminded that the first special operation to blow up the Crimean Bridge using a truck with explosives had been prepared from March to October 2022. Before the hit, up to 46 trains with weapons and ammo had daily passed through this enemy logistics corridor.

To strike the bridge the first time, the SSU used improvised explosive devices (21 tons of TNT equivalent) disguised as rolls of film, and the second time – naval drones.

Both special operations were aimed at cutting off russian military logistics and were carried out on the orders of the President of Ukraine. As the result of these successful missions, the Crimean bridge is no longer functional for transport of military goods.

‘The supports and the piers on which they stand were damaged. When they are repaired, they [russian army] may potentially start transporting their ammo… But then we’ll once again say ‘hello’ to them,’ predicts Vasyl Maliuk.

At sea, the Security Service successfully operates Sea Baby and Mamai surface drones. They have already managed to hit 11 russian ships and unblock the Black Sea.

Today, these maritime drones are used not only in kamikaze mode but also for other purposes. They are the SSU’s unparalleled, unique developments.
