The SSU Internal Security, in cooperation with the NABU and the SAPO, exposed an SSU operative on bribery.

He extorted an illegal benefit from a defendant in one of the criminal proceedings. In exchange, he promised ‘assistance’ in returning the equipment seized in course of the investigation. In addition, he assured that no one will hinder the entrepreneur’s business in the future.

He estimated his ‘help’ at USD 60,000. He was caught red-handed while receiving the entire amount of the bribe.

The investigators are preparing a notice of suspicion.
