SSU notifies traitor who ‘built’ enemy agent network in Kharkiv region of suspicion (video)
The SSU Counterintelligence has exposed an organizer of a russian intelligence network in Kharkiv region. His informants collected data on social and political situation in the region, as well as on location and movement of military equipment and personnel of Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The traitor is a 49-year-old native of Kharkiv, who has been living in temporarily occupied Donetsk since 2014.
He recruited Kharkiv residents, mostly pensioners, participants of pro-russian protest actions of the so-called ‘anti-Maidan’ in 2014, who seek reunification of former Soviet republics and restoration of the USSR.
According to the investigation, the organizer of the network was recruited and acted on the instructions of the Main directorate of the General staff of russian armed forces (aka GRU).
The investigators documented the fact that the spy obtained and passed to the enemy intelligence on specific types of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, their number and movement in the city.
The SSU has notified, in absentia, the network’s organizer of suspicion of treason committed under martial law (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
Such a crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all participants of the agent network.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region has been investigating the case with the assistance of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
