SSU publishes evidence of planning terrorist attacks by Russian agent in Odesa (video)
The SSU has published evidence of unlawful activity of a Russian military intelligence agent, who planned a series of terrorist attacks in Odesa. Previously, the agent was detained ‘red handed’ while trying to recruit a perpetrator of a future crime.
The record includes parts of the conversation between the Russian agent and a perpetrator he found previously. They discuss:
- vandalism of the monument to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Odesa and absence of expected media attention;
- arson of offices of volunteer organizations helping the Armed Forces in JFO area;
- cooperation with Russian intelligence services and improving grenade launcher skills;
- planning a range of terrorist attacks in Odesa region, including at a military base.
The suspect is in custody and has been notified of suspicion of the crime under Article 258.2 (terrorist act) of the CCU.
The SSU carried out the operation under the supervision of Odesa District Prosecutor’s Office.
