Bell from Ukrainian church destroyed by ruscists during seizure of Kupiansk handed over to Kharkiv museum
In the course of stabilization measures in the liberated areas of Kharkiv region, the SSU Counterintelligence found an ancient Ukrainian bell.
The bell is the only surviving artefact from the St. John the Theologian Church near Kupiansk, which was destroyed by ruscists.
After capturing the area, the invaders set up firing positions on the territory of the building, and in the church itself – an ammunition depot.
However, when escaping from Ukraine’s counter-offensive, russian occupiers carried out a rocket and artillery strike on the church and destroyed it.
Now, the SSU initiated handing over of the ancient bell to the Kharkiv Historical Museum.
After the temple is restored, the antiquity will be returned to believers.
The handing over was carried out by the SSU CI Department and the SSU Office in Kharkiv region.
