SSU submits to court case of russian agent who worked for terrorist Strelkov

The SSU completed pre-trial investigations and submitted to court the criminal proceedings against two russian agents.

They were collecting intelligence on deployment and movement of the Defence Forces on the eastern direction.

Both criminals were detained as a result of the SSU’s special operations in Donetsk region.

One of the agents was a personal informer of the russian terrorist Strelkov-Girkin.

He approached the former ‘minister of defence of the dnr’ through the banned social network Odnoklassniki after the full-scale invasion began.

There, he offered Strelkov his ‘help’ in the war against Ukraine.

On the instructions of the russian terrorist, his accomplice collected information on the sites of temporary bases and movement of the AFU units in Sloviansk.

In addition, the agent passed to the enemy intelligence on location of government institutions and critical infrastructure in the town.

The investigation established that the enemy agent had transmitted classified information from his own account in the form of tags on electronic maps with detailed descriptions of surrounding areas.

The SSU identified the agent, documented his criminal actions and detained him on the attempt to pass defence information to the aggressor.

Another accomplice of the occupiers is a resident of Kleban-Byk village, recruited by the fsb after the start of the full-scale aggression.

Following the fsb’s instructions, the agent conducted reconnaissance and sabotage activities in Kramatorsk district.

The enemy informer tried to detect convoys of Ukrainian military equipment and pass their geolocation data to russians through an anonymous messenger app.

SSU investigators notified both offenders of suspicion under Article 114-2.2, 114-1.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, transfer, movement or deployment of the AFU or other lawful military formations, committed under martial law).

The crime is punishable by up to 12 years of imprisonment.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions exposed the agents under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
