SBU suspects members of Municipal Guard of organizing illegal firing range in Kyiv (video)
SBU officers uncovered the illegal activities of a group of people who set up an illegal firing range on the territory of a former children's camp in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv.
The pre-trial investigation established that members of the Municipal Guard Public Formation for the Protection of Public Order were involved in the organization of the range.
Shooting drills were conducted with the use of unregistered firearms.
In addition, members of the group stored ammunition, explosives and weapons illegally transported from the JFO area.
During searches in the residences of involved persons, the following items were detected and seized:
- RPG-22 grenade launcher,
- 400 g of TNT,
- 2 RGD-5 grenade cases,
- “KRISS” semi-automatic pistol, production of the USA of 9 * 21 mm caliber,
- almost a hundred of rounds of various calibers,
- a significant number of hunting rifles.
Currently, within the criminal proceedings upon unlawful handling weapons, ammunition or explosives the investigative actions are under way. The examinations are continuing. The issue of serving suspicion notices to the involved persons is being resolved.
Measures to expose illegal activities were carried out jointly with the Solomenskyi District Unit of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv city and under the procedural guidance of the Solomenskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
