The official was detained as a result of a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine and has been officially notified of suspicion under Article 111 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (treason).

The SSU has substantiated evidence that the head of Mykolaiv District Prosecutor’s Office cooperated with representatives of the security agencies of Russia. To do this, he used a mediator to conceal the collaboration.

According to preliminary data, he provided information to the enemy on:

• operational situation in Mykolaiv and its region;
• killed military and civilians, prisoners of war, places of their detention;
• outcomes of strikes on Mykolaiv;
• daily passwords for checkpoints in the region, etc.

To document the traitor, the SSU conducted a special operation to imitate a crime. The SSU handed over fictitious ‘lists’ of killed servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the target of investigation. A few days later, a representative of Russia, who was also under the SSU’s surveillance, had these lists.

As a result of searches, the SSU seized the suspect’s mobile phone, computer equipment and flash drives containing evidence of his illegal activities.

During the interrogation, the traitor confessed to his criminal activity and testified.
