SBU suspects Crimean citizen of assistance to Russian law enforcement agencies

The SBU served in absentia a suspicion notice of treason to a company director from the temporarily occupied Crimea. His company serviced Russian military equipment.

Allegedly, before the annexation of Crimea, the company was the only powerful refueller at Simferopol International Airport.

The company specialized in providing fuel, lubricants and refueling services of civil aircraft. The company continued its activity after the Crimea annexation.

However, the firm serviced Russian law enforcement agencies, in particular, Russian Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, and the FSB.

The law enforcement conducted searches of the offender’s real estate on the mainland of Ukraine, and interrogated witnesses. During the investigation, computer equipment and other materials proving illegal activity were seized.

Criminal proceedings were initiated for treason.

The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region jointly with the SBU Main Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea under supervision of Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
