In city of Mykolaiv, SBU CI blocked an attempt to covertly export military aviation equipment from Ukraine for the needs of a Middle East country.

SBU operatives established that the management of the Ukrainian transport airlines, specializing in cargo transportation in the Middle East and Africa, intended to set up illegal scheme. The offenders tried to smuggle aeronautical goods which the military transport aircrafts equipped with.

They hid military goods from customs clearance among the in-flight equipment of an airplane that had to fly out of Ukraine after maintenance works. However, the company did not have any relevant license of the State Export Control for transferring of military goods outside the Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers seized aviation military equipment and sent for examination. A decision to initiate criminal proceedings for violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control will be made after the results of the investigation.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Office in Mykolaiv region with the Chornomorska Customs of the State Customs Service.
