The SBU prevented an attempt to seize the harvest of Research Farm “Bilokrynytske” of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Science.

Within the criminal proceedings, the SBU operatives documented that the officials conspired with companies in October this year. Using forged documents and bogus companies, the offenders planned to re-register the rights to harvest from the state lands to businessmen. The estimated cost of sunflower seeds, which the attackers were going to misappropriate, tops UAH 60 million (USD 2.1 million).

The law enforcement detained 3 combines, which illegally harvested crops, and trucks with more than 40 tons of sunflower seeds.

The court seized agricultural machinery and products.

The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Rivne region, under the coordination of the SBU Main Directorate of Counterintelligence Protection of State Interests in the Sphere of Economic Security, jointly with the National Police Department of Rivne region, under the procedural supervision of the Rivne Region Prosecutor's Office.
