SBU officers established that the organizers of illegal scam had already smuggled the chemical solvent to one of the local enterprises in Luhansk region. According to intelligence, the smugglers had already tried to import the goods to Ukraine over the last month. However, the chemical liquid was re-exported to Russia.

Later, the smugglers tried to import the liquid allegedly from another manufacturer. Thus, the Moscow production company that has not been subject to economic and other restrictive measures imposed by the NSDC was indicated in documents instead of the sanctioned Russian plant.

As a result, SBU officers seized the methyl acetate tank.
