SSU serves new suspicion notice to russian navy admiral who ordered strike on Vinnytsia with Kalibr missiles
The SSU has collected new evidence of the guilt of former russian Black Sea fleet commander Igor Osipov, involved in a barrage of strikes on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
SSU investigators have established that it was Osipov who organized the massive air attack on Vinnytsia on 14 July 2022.
Then, on his orders, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian city with Kalibr missiles from a russian warship based near Cape Fiolent on the Crimean Peninsula.
The enemy strike killed 29 Vinnytsia residents, including three children. Another 154 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
In addition, russian missiles hit 35 residential buildings, nearly 70 private cars and municipal vehicles.
Based on the evidence collected, Osipov has been notified of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 438.2 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder committed by a group of persons).
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Earlier this year, the SSU notified him of suspicion for organizing systemic missile attacks from the Black Sea on Ukraine’s densely populated areas.
Then, Osipov was declared suspect under two Articles of the CCU:
- 437.2 (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging of an aggressive war);
- 110.3 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability).
The SSU Office in Vinnytsia region is conducting the investigation under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
