SSU notifies collaborating members of local councils and ‘officials’ of occupation administrations of Kharkiv region of suspicion

In the course of stabilization measures in the liberated territories, the SSU Counterintelligence exposed another six traitors and collaborators.

During the temporary occupation of Kharkiv region, they voluntarily joined the invaders and helped them plunder the region and persecute locals.

In particular, investigators documented the criminal actions of two members of Lyptsi village council. When the local territorial community was captured, both officials supported the enemy and agreed to collaborate with them.

For such ‘loyalty’, occupiers appointed their accomplices to the positions at the local occupation administration. There, one of them was involved in theft of Ukrainian grain and transporting it from Kharkiv region to russia.

SSU investigators notified both offenders of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.5 of the CCU).

Another official exposed by the SSU is the former chief of the investigation unit of one of the police departments in Chuhuiv district. When the full-scale invasion began, he defected to the enemy and was appointed to run the investigative unit in the so-called ‘police department’ of the temporarily occupied Vovchansk.

While in his ‘position’, the traitor actively participated in illegal persecution of locals and repressions against them.

Basing on the collected evidence, investigators notified him, in absentia, of suspicion of treason (Article 111.2 of the CCU).

The SSU is acting to locate the suspect and bring him to justice.

Another three officials suspected of treason are the former chief of unit and two inspectors of Kupiansk and Izium departments of the State Tax Service in Kharkiv region.

After the towns were captured, they joined the occupation administration to perform fiscal functions and fill the ‘budget.’

These individuals were engaged in illegal administration of ‘taxes and fees’ from locals, including entrepreneurs.

Court has already chosen custody as a measure of restraint for two of the traitors.

The SSU stresses the inevitability of punishment for crimes against the state security of Ukraine.

The SSU Counterintelligence carried out the operations together with the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
