SSU serves suspicion notices to two representatives of occupation authorities in liberated Kharkiv region

According to the investigation, from the beginning of the occupation a 48-year-old local resident of Chkalovske village, Chuhuiv district, voluntarily cooperated with the russian occupation administration. Since March, he had held the position of the ‘head of united community’, carrying out organizational, administrative and economic functions in Chkalovske and nineteen other nearby settlements in the interests of the enemy.

Another local 42-year-old collaborator expressed a desire to become the ‘elder’ of Chkalovske village. From early July to September, he regularly participated in the meetings of the occupation administration in Balakliya, collecting information and statements from residents of Chkalovske.

The SSU detained the ‘elder’ of Chkalovske after the de-occupation of the village. The ‘head of the community’ fled to russia when Ukrainian troops began the counteroffensive in the area. He has been declared wanted.

SSU investigators notified both individuals of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.5 of the CCU).

This crime is punishable by imprisonment for 5 to 10 years.

The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
