SSU serves suspicion notice to ex-head of SSU, who leads russian punitive bodies in occupied part of Kherson region

The SSU has gathered irrefutable evidence against another enemy accomplice in the temporarily occupied part of southern Ukraine.

The offender is the former head of the SSU Oleksandr Yakymenko, who, after committing high treason, had been hiding in russia since 2014.

When russia launched its full-scale invasion, the traitor supported the occupiers and offered them his assistance in the war against Ukraine.

For this, Yakymenko was appointed head of the ‘state security service in Kherson oblast’ established by the aggressor state.

In this ‘position’, he is fulfilling moscow’s task of spreading the kremlin’s regime and suppressing resistance.

To do this, ‘head of state security’ organizes mass repressions against locals. People are illegally persecuted, kidnapped and subjected to brutal torture.

The enemy accomplice is ‘accountable’ to the FSB officers who coordinate russia’s repressive authorities in the occupied areas.

During the occupation of Kherson, Yakymenko ordered to seize one of the offices in the city center.

In the basement of this building, ruscists set up a torture chamber, where they brought illegally detained citizens.

There, they ‘beat’ confessions out of their victims to ‘assistance to Ukrainian Defence Forces’ and then offered to grant them ‘amnesty’ for money.

In this way, the head of the local ‘branch’ of the FSB and his accomplices ‘earned’ money on mass repressions.

According to the investigation, the head of the occupation body personally recruited another eight traitors, who were directly involved in torturing civilians.

After Kherson’s liberation, the ‘official’ and his ‘team’ fled to the Dnipro’s left bank, where they are now hiding from justice.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the former general and eight of his accomplices of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU:

  • 110.2 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
  • 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
  • 260 (creation of unlawful paramilitary or armed groups);
  • 28.2, 438.1 (violation of laws and customs of war).

The SSU is acting to hold the traitors to account.

The SSU Office in Kherson region exposed and documented the crimes under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
