SBU serves suspicion notice to former DNR deputy minister of information
In Kyiv, SBU investigators served a suspicion notice to a former Deputy Minister of Information of the DNR terrorist organization.
Allegedly, the suspect held this position in 2014-2016. He publicly urged locals to support official position of the DNR leadership. The "official" also actively promoted the political and territorial integration of the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas with Russia and campaigned to vote for the fake initiative in the pseudo-elections.
The SBU documented that after some time the offender returned to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities outside the established checkpoints through Russia. In Kyiv, he was acting as a spin doctor of pro-Russian social and political structures.
SBU officers established the offender’s residence in Kyiv. During the investigation, the law enforcement found and seized computer equipment and materials proving criminal activity.
As a result, the offender received a notice of suspicion for encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and creation of a terrorist group.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The SBU is actively detecting and suppressing illegal activity of individuals participating and assisting L/DNR terrorist organizations.
Note:
According to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved through legal procedure and established by a court verdict of guilty.
