SSU declares russian airline CEO suspect for transporting ‘Wagner’ instructors from Iran to Ukraine to take part in war
The SSU has collected evidence against Vladimir Mikheichik, CEO of the russian airline ‘224 flight squad’, who is involved in the aggressive war against Ukraine.
The official assisted russia’s top military and political leadership in transferring personnel and military equipment of the occupation groupings to the Ukrainian border.
He ‘took care’ of the transfer of weapons and militants of the russian PMC ‘Wagner’ from the Middle East to Ukraine.
According to the investigation, from August 2022 to the present, Mikheichik provided 6 civilian aircraft for these flights from Syria and Iran to the assembly points in russia.
On 8 August 2022, civilian aircraft of the suspect’s airline transported weapons and ‘Wagner’ instructors from Iran to moscow on international flight, RFF8629.
On 18 September, russian mercenaries were travelling on the Syria-Grozny flight, RFF8631.
Another occupiers’ flight was recorded on 26 February 2023 – the RFF8936 from Latakia (Syria) to Rostov-on-Don.
Subsequently, ‘Wagner’ mercenaries with their military equipment were deployed to Ukraine to participate in warfare on the southern and eastern fronts, including near Bakhmut.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified Mikheichyk of suspicion under Articles 27.5, 437.2 of the CCU (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging of an aggressive war).
The offender is facing up to 15 years in prison. Comprehensive efforts to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine are underway.
The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
