SSU investigates general producer of occupation TV channel ‘Crimea’ that zombifies population of all temporarily occupied territory

The SSU has collected evidence against collaborator Oleh Kryuchkov, general producer of the occupation TV and radio company Crimea based in the temporarily occupied Simferopol.

The entity includes 16 pro-russian TV studios and radio stations, making it the kremlin’s key mouthpiece on the peninsula.

The enemy news outlets regularly spread fakes about russia’s war against Ukraine and justify the invaders’ war crimes.

In the spring of 2022, the general producer set up the broadcasting of his TV and radio company on almost the entire temporarily occupied part of Ukraine.

The collaborator also has the ‘status’ of an adviser to gauleiter Aksyonov and is a member of the board of the ‘ministry of internal policy, information and communications of the Republic of Crimea’.

According to the investigation, Kryuchkov was appointed general producer of the occupation TV channel before russia’s full-scale invasion. Prior to this ‘position’, he was a reporter for the russian NTV.

Under Aksyonov’s patronage, he became one of the most influential figures implementing moscow’s information policy in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine.

Among other things, Kryuchkov actively uses his pages on social media to call for the occupation of entire Ukraine.

Based on the evidence, the SSU served the person in question a notice of suspicion in absentia under three Articles of the CCU:

  • 111-1.6 (collaboration);
  • 436 (propaganda of war);
  • 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine).

The suspect is hiding from prosecution in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Efforts are underway to bring him to justice for his crimes.

The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
