SSU notifies suspicion to head of occupation TV and radio company ‘Krym’, media ‘tribune’ for Aksyonov and Saldo
The SSU has collected evidence against Vadym Pervykh, a sanctioned collaborator, head of the so-called Krym TV and radio company, established by ruscists on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
After russia’s full-scale invasion, the entity functions as the only media platform for spreading kremlin propaganda in the temporarily occupied part of southern Ukraine.
It includes 16 russian information resources, including the first crimean and Krym 24 TV channels.
Under Pervykh’s leadership, they have become the kremlin’s main mouthpieces in the region, as well as ‘media tribunes’ for local gauleiters Aksyonov and Saldo.
Fake reports from the frontline and staged stories in support of the fake plebiscites of 2022 and 2023 were also edited in the studios of the enemy TV company.
Pervykh himself has repeatedly publicly supported the war against Ukraine and called on residents of the occupied territories to join the russian army.
He voiced such ‘appeals’ both on the air of the controlled TV channels and on his pages on banned social media.
According to the investigation, Pervykh voluntarily cooperated with the aggressor immediately after Crimea’s seizure in 2014. Initially, he was appointed ‘editor-in-chief’ of the russian ‘first crimean’ TV channel.
Subsequently, the collaborator became ‘deputy minister of information and communications’ of russia’s occupation administration on the Ukrainian peninsula, and in April 2020 - ‘director general of the Krym TV and radio company’.
The SSU-initiated examinations confirmed the facts of Pervykh’s unlawful activity against Ukraine’s state security.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified him of suspicion under four Articles of the CCU:
- 109.3 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power);
- 110.1 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 111-1.6 (collaboration);
- 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The suspect is in the temporarily occupied territory; comprehensive efforts are underway to bring him to justice.
The investigation was carried out in cooperation with the SSU Main Office in the Crimea under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
