SSU serves suspicion notice to head of Russian Railways who facilitated full-scale invasion of Ukraine
The SSU continues to expose crimes of russian high-ranking officials involved in waging the war against Ukraine.
As a result of operational and investigative activities, the SSU has collected evidence against the head of Russian Railways JSC, who contributed and continues to contribute to russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, this official organized the delivery of russian military personnel and equipment by rail towards Ukraine’s state border and to the temporarily occupied territories of our country.
For this purpose, he engaged 185 russian companies, which provided their railcars, tanks and platforms for logistical needs of the occupation forces.
At the SSU’s initiative, the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine has imposed economic sanctions on these companies.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the director general of Russian Railways JSC has been notified of suspicion of a crime under the Articles 27.5, 437.2 of the CCU (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging of an aggressive war).
The crime is punishable by 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The SSU Main Investigation Directorate and the SSU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure and Countering Terrorism Financing carried out the investigation under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
