The SSU has exposed another cleric of moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC-MP) in Cherkasy region who justified russia’s armed aggression.

In communication with parishioners and acquaintances, the clergyman repeatedly praised russia’s top military and political leadership and personally russian president.

He also glorified Kadyrov and justified ruscists’ war crimes.

As the investigation revealed, the subdeacon was a supporter of nazism and at the same time promoted the idea of ‘restoring’ the soviet union and called for a seizure of Ukraine’s entire territory by ruscists.

During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found:

• computer equipment with enemy propaganda materials;
• prohibited symbols and printed editions with nazi and communist symbols.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the cleric a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.1 and 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The investigation is underway. The suspect is facing up to 8 years in prison.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Cherkasy region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
