SSU declares former personal adviser of terrorist Strelkov suspect
The SSU has collected evidence against the sanctioned propagandist Ihor Dus, who publicly denies the existence of Ukrainian statehood.
In 2014, Dus was an adviser to the russian terrorist Strelkov-Girkin and now positions himself as an ‘orthodox publicist’.
He also heads the public organization ‘People’s assembly’, which is a Ukrainian ‘branch’ of the russian association of the same name under the auspices of the russian Orthodox Church.
After the Crimea was captured, the propagandist fled to the temporarily occupied territory of the Ukrainian peninsula.
There, he was a regular ‘guest’ on russian TV channels acting as a ‘political’ or ‘religious’ expert and justifying aggression against Ukraine.
After 24 February 2022, in moscow Dus publicly praised the russian occupation groupings and called the AFU to not resist the invaders.
He is also actively disseminating kremlin’s narratives about ‘oppression’ of moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and is praising the anti-Ukrainian activities of moscow patriarch kirill.
The SSU-initiated examinations confirmed the suspect’s subversive activities against Ukraine’s state security.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified Dus of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.1 (collaboration);
- 110.2 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability).
The offender is currently in russia. Comprehensive measures to bring him to justice are underway.
The SSU is investigating the case under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
