SSU serves notice of suspicion to kremlin collaborator ‘military correspondent’ in temporarily occupied Luhansk

The SSU collected evidence on collaborator Viacheslav Yakovenko, the so-called ‘editor-in-chief of the online newspaper Nash Donbas (Our Donbas)’ in temporarily occupied Luhansk.

The offender identifies himself as a ‘military correspondent’ for the kremlin media, publicly justifying russia's war against Ukraine and the war crimes of the ruscists.

For this, the suspect prepares paid-for stories and ‘live broadcasts’ allegedly from the front line.

In fact, he is hiding more than 100 kilometers from the front line, from where he spreads fakes on russian TV about the military situation on the eastern front.

To create ‘staged’ footage, Yakovenko uses the information resources of the occupation media that is under his control.

For additional distribution of disinformation in favor of the russian federation, he regularly uses his Telegram channel with over 30 thousand users.

In such posts, he tries to discredit Ukrainian defenders and glorifies the occupation groups of the aggressor country, in particular those which captured Lysychansk.

According to the investigation, back in 2014, the collaborator joined the russian-controlled terrorist group Vostok 13, which operated in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region.

After russia's full-scale invasion, the enemy formation was included in the occupation forces of the Southern Military District of the aggressor country.

At the same time, the offender turned to propaganda, participating in information sabotage against Ukraine.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served Yakovenko a notice of suspicion in absentia under Art. 111-1.6 of the CCU (collaboration).

Since the offender is hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied part in eastern Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to prosecute him.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
