SSU serves suspicion notice to former Yanukovych associate who became ‘russian senator from Zaporizhzhia region’
The SSU has collected evidence against another Yanukovych’s ally who is now helping russia.
This is the former head of the State Registration Service of Ukraine Dmytro Vorona.
In late 2022, he was appointed the so-called ‘senator of russian federation - representative of Zaporizhzhia region’s executive authority’.
In this ‘position’, he coordinated the seizure of Ukrainian enterprises in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Vorona, on his own initiative, helped the ruscists form occupation administrations in the temporarily occupied districts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions and was an ‘adviser’ to gauleiter Balytskyi.
The ‘official’ also drafted an appeal to the president of the aggressor state to award the russian military and collaborators who contributed to the region’s occupation.
Based on the evidence obtained, SSU investigators notified Vorona of suspicion under Article 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state).
At the SSU’s initiative, the court seized the suspect’s property worth tens of millions of hryvnias.
The arrested assets include apartments in downtown Kyiv and Myrhorod, a house with an area of over 300 m2 and 10 land plots near the capital.
The SSU is acting to bring the enemy accomplice to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The offender is facing up to 12 years in prison.
The SSU Office in Vinnytsia region conducted the investigation under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
